Medical World Americas 2015 to Feature
Eight Main Presentation Tracks
The second annual Medical World Americas conference will feature eight over- arching topic tracks during two conference days: This year, attendees can choose to focus on stroke, cancer, diabetes or health policy on Tuesday, April 28;
or heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, kidney disease or medical ethics on Wednesday,
April 29. The cancer track focuses heavily on medical technology, featuring topics
such as ways Big Data can advance cancer care, and eHealth tools available to cancer
caregivers and patients. The Alzheimer’s disease (AD) track will feature sessions on
biomarkers in pre-symptomatic AD, and transformative technologies for the disease
such as ubiquitous computing technologies for disease monitoring and care, and
mental stimulation. The kidney disease track will offer discussions on innovations
in chronic kidney disease treatment, new therapeutic targets, stem cell therapy and
novel devices and intervention.
The opening plenary session, “Collaborating to Address Health Problems,” will
present the First Annual TMC (Texas Medical Center) Policy Institute Health Care
Survey: “What patients REALLY want in their healthcare system.” The Clinton
Health Matters Initiative, the Clinton Foundation’s effort to reduce the prevalence
of chronic disease in the United States by 2020, also will be discussed. Topics concerning healthcare executives will be presented as well.
The conference also will focus on improving the health of communities through
inventive health policy and offer a fresh look at managing high-risk and rising-risk
patients in U.S. communities through the lens of leading researchers and clinical experts. Presenters and exhibitors will showcase clinical and research breakthroughs
that are revolutionizing medicine in some of the most common and costly medical
conditions, including those in the tracks mentioned above. Integral to the conference
will be interactive discussions on how developments in genomics, big data, connected health and health policy are transforming medical professions and the care and
outcomes of patients, while simultaneously creating unique challenges in the privacy
of personal data and medical ethics.
Medical World Americas will be held April 27-29, 2015, at the George R. Brown
Convention Center in Houston, Texas. For more information, call (619) 546-2236
